PYRC #55: The BEST Steak Marinade

My husband is the grill master around the house, which means I don't technically cook a lot of meat, but that didn't stop me from pinning this best steak marinade recipe (dubbed rightfully so).

I know the rules – a good steak really only needs olive oil, cracked pepper and kosher salt. But not everyone can afford good steaks and even if they can, not everyone is the best chef. That's where really yummy steak marinades come into play.

Confession: We didn't actually use this recipe on regular steaks. We used it for pork steaks (I think that’s what they were called - ?). Since we'd never bought pork steaks or cooked them before, the entire process was an experiment. Best experiment ever!

{1/3 cup soy sauce, 1/2 cup olive oil, 1/3 cup lemon juice, 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce, 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 3 Tbsp dried basil, 1 1/2 Tbsp dried parsley flakes, 1 tsp ground pepper, 1 tsp (2 cloves) fresh minced garlic}

This meal rocked, accompanied by my fave brussels sprouts with balsamic reduction, and this marinade rocked. I'm pretty sure it was a combo of meat + marinade + grill master, and I'm pretty sure this marinade was not too off par from some of Jeff's usual creations (really, the ingredients were so… normal), but whatever the magic ingredients were, it worked, and I'm ready to try this marinade again.

Don't know what the heck to do with your meat? Use this steak marinade recipe from Joyful Momma’s Kitchen… seriously.
