PYRC #32: Double Crunch Honey Garlic Chicken and Asian Fried Rice
I saved this Asian dinner for a weekend because I knew it'd take some time - double crunch honey garlic chicken with fried rice.
DIY Burlap Vases from Starbucks Frappuccino Bottles
You know I'm a sucker for Craigslist, right? Well one random day I came across Coke bottles in the "free" section. Thinking I might could use them for some cool art projects, I asked the seller (or giver in this case) if they were glass bottles, and the answer was unfortunately, "No, plastic." However, she did have a bunch of empty Starbucks frappuccino bottles, if I was interested, and it didn't take too long before I took her up on the offer.
PYRC #31: Homemade Taco Seasoning
For my new visitors, PYRC stands for "Pinterest Yummy Recipe Challenge" and is my effort to cook through my Pinterest Yummy Recipes board. I started over a year ago with mushroom soup, and since then I've cooked my way through 31 blog posts, which includes more than 50 recipes. For today, I'm sharing homemade taco seasoning.
New Etsy Venture - Kitsy Co
I am excited to announce my latest, most time-consuming project, my Etsy shop, Kitsy Co!
It's not launched yet, but I've been working away to get there. I'll be selling an "eclectic dose of invites and art." More info coming soon.
For now, the goal has been to finalize my logo, build inventory and establish my online presence. You can find me on all social media outlets, but my current focus is Instagram (@kitsyco) and Facebook (Kitsy Co).
Jeff’s Birthday and Sinful Chocolate Cake
In celebration of one year closer to 30, we enjoyed Jeff's birthday with an infamous Germenis cookout. On the menu: beer-can chicken, smoked pork loin, jalapeño snackers, homemade mac-n-cheese, caesar salad and sinful chocolate cake.
Jeff handled the meat on our beloved longhorn smoker. He outdid himself on the chicken and presented the pork perfectly.

PYRC #29: Cajun Chicken Stuffed with Pepper Jack Cheese & Spinach
Congratulations to me. For the first time ever, this Pinterest Yummy Recipe Challenge received a big fat F. Wait, let me clarify, the recipe didn't receive an F. My execution received an F. And F does not stand for F-awesome. F stands for FAIL. If the picture could have portrayed taste, I would have submitted it to Pintrosity.
