This is it, over 7 months since we began our living room remodel, the reveal we've all been waiting for, our living room before and after!

An Organized, Functioning Office… Finally

In February I shared our newly refinished office, and even though I aimed to have the office organized and complete by the end of March, six months later, I can finally say it's done!!!

Remodel Continued.... Almost There!

Earlier this week my grandpa posted a picture of me on Facebook with the following caption, "Learned at a young age!"

Remodel Kickoff with the Family

Have I mentioned that I have the most amazing family ever? Or that I have the most supportive, helpful family ever? Or that I'm from a family of machines who have made this remodel possible? Well if not, now you know. Seriously, words cannot express the gratitude that Jeff and I have towards everyone
who has helped us thus far.

It started last weekend with Ben (who might as well be part of the family), MeMaw and Mom. Ben and Jeff ripped out carpet and tile and Mom, MeMaw and I de-wallpapered our entry way (such a pain).

What's Happening at the House

It has been a while since I've posted a house update, so I thought I'd take some time to share what's been going on. Since I knew March was going to be such a busy month for us, I anticipated well beforehand that we'd be spending our time looking for furniture for our house, getting the bedrooms set up, and working on our yard. While the bedrooms are still not as put together as I'd like them to be, we have made tremendous progress, and we can actually have people come over without having to clarify why our house looks like (a) a construction zone or (b) a storage unit.

Bedrooms and Furniture

I had no idea how difficult it would be to pick out furniture. While we are far from having a perfectly furnished home, I am excited to finally see our furniture coming together, piece by piece. Our first target room was our master bedroom.

We found mattresses at the Sears Presidents' Day sale, a king bed at World Market (an exceptional steal by the way), and our quilt at Anthropologie. When we were able to put it all together and hang our first piece of art, I finally felt like I was at home.

Yellow Guest Bedroom Makeover

Happy Friday everyone! I am excited to be writing this post today because I am proud to say that we have FINALLY finished our last room makeover - the guest bedroom.

We Have an Office!

When I walked into flowers and chocolate covered strawberries in my kitchen at 7 a.m. on Valentine's Day, I only THOUGHT that the day was perfect. In reality a post-work surprise was waiting to put the icing on the cake... A finished office! I completely forgot to mention it in yesterday’s post.

So yes, it's true, we are FINALLY re-gaining an office. For a girl who is an arts, crafts, projects, papers, organizer freak, not having my own office for the past 6 months has been extremely rough. Do you know how many planned projects I have that I cannot start until I have an office? Tons. And now it's finally time to move forward.

While the office started out just like any other room in our house, adorned with carpet, brown trim, and super modern curtains, it actually had a positive note, a soft green color on the wall.

Sneak Peek at Our New Master Bedroom

Today was a big day. This morning I was lucky enough to have 3 of my 4 wonderful wisdom teeth removed, and since then I have been lucky enough to lay at home all day... in my bed... in my master bedroom. Yes, that is correct, we finally moved out of our living room efficiency and back into our bedroom. We were super close last night to not moving anything at all, but I knew crashing out in my bedroom rather than my living room would make today's recovery a much more pleasant experience. And on that note we sucked it up and moved!

As promised to all of you who have been requesting, today I have a sneak peek of our master bedroom. I wanted to wait to post all the finished rooms until after  they were all finished, but I have no idea when that will be. There are still several final details to work on, like doors, blinds, closet lights, and crown molding, and there is still new furniture to be purchased, so today you only get the bare bones before and after pictures.

Our Master Bedroom When We Moved In

Color Makes the World Go Round

It's been a busy week at the Germenis household trying to squeeze in renovation work every night after  work. Since Monday we have successfully:

Patched holes and textured,

Removed the massive mirror that was glued to our wall without breaking it
(thanks to knowledge from the DIY Network and Google),
And painted baseboards.

The Germenises Meet Renovation Realities

Saturday marked day #1 of Jeff and I's official renovation realities. Since he had today off for MLK, I took off as well so we could embark on a 3-day bedroom facelift. Current status? EXHAUSTED.

At first we thought we'd start our house makeover in the living room since it is our hangout spot. But considering the living room would be one of our biggest projects, Jeff thought we should start with the office so we could have at least one complete room. "Just the office" then turned into "the office and the spare bedroom." And then "just the office and spare bedroom" turned into "all 3 bedrooms." Our tackling of the floor and rental of a concrete grinder was a major factor in the decision to do all the rooms at once.

So basically our Saturday started out like this:
